Birthday Suckers!!!!!

Wouldn't you love to receive one of these for your birthday???

This is a very easy gift to make and there can be many variations.  This is how I made this one -

You can re-use a box and just cut it down to size -

I used wrapping paper to wrap it like a package.  Scrapbook paper can also be used - as could the Sunday cartoons, etc.  After the box is wrapped then cut a piece of the green dry foam (found in the floral section of the craft department) to fit the box.  You might have to use a couple pieces or parts of a couple pieces.

Start poking in the suckers -

When you have all the suckers in place -- then put some of the crinkled/shredded paper where there are any openings to cover the green foam.  Use a pencil if you need to push in place.  Also, add a little sign for their appropriate birthday -

Of course, the older a person is the better it looks having all those suckers!!!!!  There are so many variations. If you have a small container then you could use the small dum dum suckers.  You could use a mixture of suckers with some very large ones and other assorted ones.  It does not have to be all the same suckers.  You could always fine a nice container (garage sales, Goodwill, etc.) and would not have to cover it in any paper at all.  The container would be able to be used by the birthday person - a dual purpose!!!

The above suckers were made for my daughter's birthday -

Here are some other birthday suckers and photos of the birthday person -

This one does not have one with the birthday person - it was a surprise party and he was busy talking to everyone so I didn't want to bother him with a photo -

As you can see that I have stuck with the same thing - tootsie pop suckers and using a box.  My tried and true method.  I usually have a bag of shredded paper on hand and some suckers.  The last time I just went to Sam's Club to get them - when I had to do 85!  I still have a few left.  I have already found them on sale (like at Target) and grabbed several bags because you never know when you might need to whip up one of these.

Lucy is wondering if she'll receive one on her next birthday -
