REUBEN ROLL-UPS FOR TAILGATING

It has been hit or miss with us this year with doing our tailgate foods on football Sundays.  I did start with a TNT one from last year - Taco Crescents.  You can see that recipe here.  These are really good & I have been making them throughout the year, too.  And, the next one I'll be making - Pepperoni Squares - as I have all the ingredients on hand - check them out here.

But, I want to share a new one that I have tried recently -- REUBEN ROLL-UPS!!

REUBEN ROLL-UPS

1 tube crescent rolls
1/2 C. Thousand Island dressing
4 oz. Corned Beef
4 oz. Swiss Cheese
1 c. sauerkraut, drained well

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Get your crescent rolls ready.  On each (of the 8) crescent rolls put 1 T. Thousand Island dressing, 1/2 oz. Corned Beef, 1/2 oz. Swiss Cheese & 2 T. sauerkraut.  Roll them up & place on parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake 13-15 minutes or til golden.

Make sure you have extra Thousand Island Dressing for dipping.

Here they are with the dressing on --

Next is the corned beef --

Swiss Cheese added --

And sauerkraut -

All baked & ready to enjoy!!

Now, Lucy just loves this time of year & when I start to decorate (& take down) all these holiday decorations.  She has to sniff everything & closely inspect, when necessary.  Here she is during another holiday season (Easter)!

Dried Beans in Decorating!!

When decorating for Fall or Halloween try using different colorful dried beans/peas to put in containers.

This year I found myself at a bulk food store in Shipshewana - Indiana's Amish country - in July.  I bought green split peas, red lentils, & black turtle beans.  Cost was under $10.  I have used these in my Fall decorations & then worked my Halloween decos around them.

Last year I used a slight variation -

If you like this idea, then 'pin' it for next year's use!  I had enough to do at least 3 containers, too.

I just love to watch Lucy when she sleeps like this -

HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS - 2016

Halloween is soon approaching & the decorations are finished!  The Fall decorations, seen here, have had Halloween added.  I'll let the photos do the talking -

Our front door has had this door decoration since Spring with the start of high school baseball season (our youngest grandson is on the team).  With the Cleveland Indians in the World Series -- we still have this on our door!!!  I am the most superstitious sports fan so there will not be any Halloween on our front door this season!!

Lucy was having fun tonight watching the leaves blowing in the back yard -
