Pear Bread

Doesn't this look so good to have with your coffee in the morning?

Pear Bread

3 C. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 T. cinnamon
3/4 C. vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 C. sugar
2 C. pears, peeled and chopped finely
1 C. pecans, chopped
2 tsp. vanilla

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt & cinnamon.  Make a well in the center of the bowl.

In a separate bowl, combine the oil, eggs, sugar, pears, pecans, & vanilla.  Blend well.  Add into the well of dry ingredients.  Stir until just moistened.  Spoon batter into 2 greased loaf pans.  (You can use use mini loaves and get more.)

Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes (original recipe said for 1 hr. and 15 minutes, but my gas oven bakes these in 40-50 minutes so you might have to adjust this depending on your oven.)  Cool before removing from pans.  This is so good served with butter.  A very moist bread!

(I got this recipe from a friend on my Christmas Yahoo group.  Thank you, Sandy, I have been making and enjoying this recipe for several years now!!)

This baking has tired Lucy and she fell asleep right on the arm of the couch and not in her favorite chair (of which she has 3 now!!) -

Your bread looks DELICIOUS. I could sure use a piece right now. And it would go great with my Warm Caramel Creme Apple Punch. Hey girl we need to have a party together. We would rock.

PS Thanks for the comment on my new blog. I'm like you.... have been reading others for a long time and finally just decided to do it. Please come and visit again. You're a darling!!
