Frosted Banana Bars

Absolutely the best dessert evah!!!!!

I saw this on an internet group I belonged to 10 years ago.  I have been making it since then.  Recently, I saw this on the Taste of Home's site, too.  This is a very rich and delicious dessert.  It is always a hit wherever I take it.

Frosted Banana Bars
1/2 C. butter, softened
1 1/2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 C. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 medium ripe bananas, mashed (about a cup)

Frosting
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 C. butter, softened
2 tsp. vanilla
3 3/4 to 4 C. confectioners sugar

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.  Add the eggs, sour cream & vanilla.  Combine flour, baking soda & salt.  Gradually add to the creamed mixture.  Stir in the bananas.  Spread into a greased baking pan (13 x 9 or thereabouts).  Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.  Cool.

For frosting - in a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, butter & vanilla.  Gradually beat in enough confectioners sugar to achieve desired consistency.  Frost bars.

Must be stored in the refrigerator.

So delicious!!!

Now, a Lucy habit -- this is where she absolutely loves to sleep at night - my computer chair!!!!  In fact, if I get out of it to get something in the evening - I have to place something large on it or she will hop up there and not give up her spot!!  The only way I can get her to get off is if we go "mouse hunting".  But, that's for another day!!

Ooh - this looks simple enough for a culinary-challenged girl like me, and delicious!
